Fundraisers

Keeping in line with the spirit of Mark, his love of the game, his love of friends, and his love of activity, the MAK Fund has hosted events designed to engage the spirit of children and to provide for children.  The renewal of funds through fundraising efforts is critical to the perpetuity of our mission and vision.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

THE MAK BASEBALL TOURNAMENT – A baseball tournament for boys ages 8-14 has been held every year since 2008 at Action Sports Center in Dayton. This tournament became a tradition for many teams who enjoy participating each year. 2016, 2015, 2014, and 2013

MARCO’S FOR MARK – For every pizza Marco’s delivers to Woodhaven Swim Club in Centerville in the summer, the restaurant donated a portion of the profit to the MAK Fund. 2014, 2013

MAKATHON 100 HOLES OF GOLF

Our premier fundraiser, the Mak-a-thon is organized and hosted by MAK Advisory Board members has become a bi-annual event where volunteer golfers commit to play 100 holes of golf in a single day. Each golfer asks friends and family to sponsor them on a per hole basis or a one-time pledge. The goal is for each golfer to raise a minimum of $1,000.  A day full of fun, camaraderie, and of course golf has become an unique experience for all and has been supported by many friends, families and colleagues and it has been held at Sebastian Hills in Jamestown, Ohio and WGC in Xenia, Ohio.

MILES FOR MARK 5K

Miles for Mark 5K is an annual fundraiser that is organized and hosted by our MAK Ambassadors, local high school seniors and juniors, who work so hard to solicit sponsors, register runners, collect donations and host this fun-family event every Spring.
